Change Root Site Collection to "modern" ?
Hi,
Is there a way to set everything to "modern" in the default root site collection (https://tenant.sharepoint.com) ?
Right now when I create a subsite, an old TeamSite is created, instead of a modern one.
Any ideas?

- Quick follow up: does anyone know whether it will be possible to have a communications site at the root?
I think that this was mentioned as being on the roadmap

Yes you can change your settings to First Release then wait for 3-4 hours your site will be update and then you will be able to create modern teamsite Follow this article

In my case my old sites also got updated to modern thats why i mentioned that comment.
