Cannot rename column in Sharepoint list

Hi,

I have an issue where I cannot update the name of a column in my Sharepoint list.

I have tried more or less everything I can think off so I hope someone else can help me.

When I update the column name ("Status") in the list view I get the notification that the column has been update and I will briefly see the new name in the list before it changes back to "Status" again.

If I check in the list settings then I can see the updated name ("Status comments") in there but it will not display in the list itself, the view editor or the new item editor.

I have two columns before named status, which is what I want fixed but I don't know if this is what is causing the issue.
