Can we control the columns shown inside "highlighted content" web part

Nope. Only way to accomplish this would be create your own SPFx webpart. ChrisWebbTechthanks for the reply. now as a general rule i always avoid using open source projects. as these projects might not work in the future for a reason or another.. so what do you think ? should i go on an try this react-content-query-webpart?

- I would, but again it depends on how critical the webpart is, even MIcrosoft webparts break from time to time :P. They have been pretty good about keeping existing webparts working. I wouldn't use it 100's of places around my intranet, but if it's something I'm only going to use in a few places to solve a problem then I see no problem with doing so.
