Thuyavan Ganesanyes i am using a desktop tool named "OneDrive for business" under windows 7, as follow:-
and as chris mentioned that this tool does not support selective folder sync and that i need to use OneDrive instead?? is this correct?
- Thuyavan GanesanDec 11, 2018Iron ContributorIf you are using OneDrive for Business and you are continue to use it then... this is the solution ...
It is called Selective Folder Sync and it is not out of the box functionality using One Drive for Business.
There are some work around for this please refer the below article and let me known if you have any questions

if you want to use OneDrive you need to download and install from here ..

using oneDrive you will be able to sync one folder as mentioned in the screenshot and Chris.
Hope this helps
Thuyavan - Dec 11, 2018Yes that is the old client, make sure you are using the new unified OneDrive client: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=844652

But i am not sure how OneDrive works exactly? As on the system tray i will have these options as follow:-
So I have 2 options to open named as; 1) "Open your OneDrive - ourcompanyname folder" + 2) "Open your ourcompanynme folder". so what are the differences between these 2 options?
Second question. now seems inside my PC i will have 2 folders created under c:\user\myusername\... representing the above 2 options,, but when i click on the "Open folder" icon (which is beside the "View online" icon), the folder which is empty will be opened, instead of the folder which contain the 2 files that i have synced .. so how this is being managed?
Third question. now seems there is an option to "View Online".. so this get me worried, if using OneDrvie means that the files i am syncing from sharepoint will be upload to my online Onedrive site which is inside office 365? although in my case i have 2 files synced (an image and MS word document), but none of them are inside the online OneDrive site (the site which have url such as @ https://****-my.sharepoint.com/personal/user_abc_ourcompanynaem_net/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx)?? so what does the "View online" icon do exactly?
can you please advice on my above 3 questions?
