Best Practices for File Storage

Hey All,

The company I work for has tasked me with researching some best practices to follow when we overhaul our current sharepoint site. I'm completely new to sharepoint, but I found a pretty handy list of practices on this link here: https://www.makeuseof.com/best-practices-sharepoint-user-should-know/

I think it's a really informative link, but we are already doing many of the things covered in the list. My question is, what are some file storage/privacy practices that you all implemented in your company's sharepoint that has been beneficial? For educational purposes, why do you use those practices?
