Backups and Retentions

Hi all,

Had an incident involving permissions groups being removed by mistake that has me thinking about retention and backups for SharePoint Online. Specifically thinking insider threat or compromised Security Owner account gaining access and deleting large numbers of documents, libraries, pages, permissions, etc. This is a larger site, so my understanding is the option for MS facilitated roll-back isn't an option for us.

I'm aware of first and second layer recycle bin retention (up to 93 days each) but does SharePoint have any other built-in backup/retention features?
