Auto populate Metadata word
Hi Juan,
Yes, this is all set up for each, however, I need to upload high volume of documents into various libraries and I would like to include it the already created documents within files prior to upload. Note these documents were not created from the library (template) as I need to migrate from shared folders to SP
Thanks

What kind of files are they? If they are Office files with custom properties, you should be able to create Content Types with columns that match the properties and when the file is uploaded, assign it a content type and the SP doc lib properties will be populated automatically.
You may also want to look at the Content Organizer, you can use it to route documents from a drop-off library to various destinations using metadata.

They are office and .pdf 70Gig worth and from what I can see from your suggestion, it would mean opening each file and adding content types to the document. Am I correct and if so it would take a fair amount of time?

There are several options:
1. upload the file to a document library that has default metadata values and then the file will automatically get those values.
2. upload the files to a doc library without default values, then assign metadata file by file or using the quick edit view to assign values to many files quickly.
3. upload files to a Drop Off library where they can be reviewed, assigned a content type, metadata added, then routed to a destination using the routing rules assigned
4. use a 3rd party tool, like Metalogix Esssentials to map metadata to the files in a spreadsheet and have the metadata assigned automatically during the migration/uploading process.
you don't have to actually open files to assign metadata, you can do this in the browser
