Auditing and Reporting of Users, Roles & Permissions
Has anyone used a tool to audit and keep track of permissions and roles through a large site? During an audit the question came up and the auditors didn't like our process. So we are looking into something that would be easy, keep track of permission changes, and allow us to create reports easily. I have read about SharePoint Manager Plus - anyone used it? I realize you can do some of this through PowerShell but I'd prefer a tool that creates reports that are easy to read.

I've personally used SPDocKit, which can report on site permissions, etc. Using in-box Site Collection Auditing is another method (won't report on existing users/permissions, but can report on changes to users/permissions). SPDocKit runs as a service on a SharePoint server in the farm and can send automated reports in DOCX or PDF format.
- +1 for SPDocKit is a really great tool that provides great information about your SharePoint Farm. They also have cloudkit365 for Office 365
