Audit Log for page/file access from 4 years ago
Is there a way to find out if a user accessed or opened a file in a SharePoint site back in 2019 -- four years ago? The document is still in the Document Library and is still linked on the same page. I would be interested in finding out how to see if a person opened the file or opened a page during a historical period.
Hi Annette1101 - unless you already had a solution in place to automatically search for that type of activity and download the audit log every 90 days, you won't be able to find that information. The audit log only goes back 90 days: Search the audit log in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal - Microsoft Purview (compliance) | Microsoft Learn
Unfortunately, the SharePoint analytics won't be able to tell you either View usage data for your SharePoint site - Microsoft Support
