Assign Department Site Template on Subsites

Question

Hello everyone.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am trying to create a subsite with communication template (Not Team Site template). The main goal behind that is to assign a site template that only works on communication site "Department template" is there anyway we can assign Department site template on subsites ?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Thank you&nbsp;

Thank you for your replyjhowe&nbsp;&nbsp;I am not able to extract the template of "Department". the button save template as a file does not appear in SharePoint site settings and I am not able to republish the template neither.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
