"All Choices" option for Sharepoint Library Choice Column

I'm working in the aviation sector and would like to build a document library for our aircraft fleet with about 70 aircrafts. Some documents belonging to one specific aircraft tailsign, other documents are effective for all aircraft tailsigns in the whole fleet.

The aim is to be able to filter the documents according to tailsigns. But since there are some documents that apply to all tailsigns, you would have to select all tailsings in the tailsigns column when a new document is published (quite a bit of work for 70 aircrafts). The simple solution would be to add a choice with "All Tailsigns". The problem then is that when the user filters the view for a specific tailsign, all documents marked with "All Tailsigns" are hidden.

Is there a way to generate an choice with "All Choices" in addition to all other choices, which will also show a document in question, even if you only filter for one of the many choices?

For example:

  • Choice 1
  • Choice 2
  • Choice 3
  • Choice 4
  • Choice 5 (includes choices 1 to 4)

Thanks for any advice to this topic.

  • maddinsdt This is not possible using SharePoint out of the box design capabilities.

If you are creating a new view with filters, you can add two conditions in filters using "Or", like:

OR user has to select the two choices while filtering, one for documents under "Choice 1" and one documents for "All Tailsigns".

OR you can customize library form using Power apps, add "All Tailsigns" choice from Power apps and when users select this option, it will automatically select and save all choices in the library.
