Sep 18, 2018Adjust Context Menu Modern Document Library
Is there an option to adjust Context Menu for Modern Document Library. End Users prefer to have Version History and Checkout to be available on menu bar rather than click three dots to access those options. Please let me know.
- AFAIK, you cannot change the order of the actions provided...you can however add your own actions directly or by means of SPFx extensions and in that case you can specify where to place them: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/solution-guidance/modern-experience-customizations-customize-lists-and-libraries

Microsoft! It's 2026 and this shortcoming is still very annoying. "Edit in grid view" is 11th in the context menu (making it a two-click request), while "Pin to top" is 5th? "Favorite" and "Add shortcut" are all more important than editing details? Please please please re-order or let us customize.
