100,000 Item Permission Limit & Versions
Hello everyone,
Wanting some clarifications on the following MS documentation with considerations for versions:
"When a list, library, or folder contains more than 100,000 items, you can't break permissions inheritance on the list, library, or folder. You also can't reinherit permissions on it."
Do versions impact the item count in this instance? For example, if there are 55,000 documents with 2 versions each, does this count as 110,000 items or 55,000 items?
Any insights are appreciated, thanks.
No, as in SharePoint, when Microsoft refers to items in the list view threshold or permission inheritance limitations, they mean the number of actual list items or documents, not the number of versions of those items.
But it that being said, I really stronly recommend not having that many items in a library
