.xltx files showing as dispform.aspx hyperlink
hi,
i have some excel templates (.xltx) stored in a document library within SharePoint online , but when i search for the file all i get is the dispform.aspx?id link that takes me to what looks like the property page of the sheet , the search doesn't even bring up the document itself anywhere... i've tried looking in search to see if i can add the file extension , but it doesn't look like thats an option anywhere
it seem to be only happening with excel templates fine , all the other word templates display ok
any ideas on how to fix this
thanks
paddi
Not in SharePoint Online. It would be a custom iFilter that you can only implement in on premise SharePoint Search like you used to do with PDF files prior to SharePoint 2013.
I'm sure there is a reason Microsoft didn't want to parse template files, but I don't know what that is.

The SharePoint Search Indexer cannot parse xltx files so it will default to the dispform.aspx link.
