MS Project can you enter a custom field for a project and not a task...
Hi team
Is is possible to have a custom field for a project in MS Project rather than a Task. E.g. if I wanted the project to have a City name associated with it, I don't want to have to have a task column to add this into row 0.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Many thanks
James
Hi James_Price ,
From your question I assume you are referring to standalone MS Project desktop (Project Pro / Project Standard etc.)? If that is the case, Project level custom fields are only available when Project is connected to Project Server / Project Online. All you can do at the project / file level with standalone MS Project is add properties to the file (File > Info > Project Information > Advanced Properties).
Hope that helps

- James_PriceBrass ContributorI thought so Paul but thanks for the confirmation. In this case we can't use cloud but I had forgotten that Project Server could be an option. Thanks again
Hi James_Price,
No problem. If you're looking at Project Server, the latest version is the Project Server Subscription Editon: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/project/new-features-capabilities-project-server-subscription-edition
