MS Non-working HELP!
Hi all, I desperately need help. I am currently working on a 24 hour programme where if you work on a weekend the bar is on top of the grey. On the same programme, my Boss wants to 'grey out' the Christmas period to make it look like a long weekend but I have no idea how to do this. I have tried changing the working time but nothing makes it go grey like what the weekends look like. Please help, this programme is for a London Hospital so I must adhere to their requests.

Hi Ames.
On the Menu bar > Gantt Chart Format > Zoom > Timescale: > Timescale... > Non-working time tab (or double-click on the Gantt-Timescale header), you can specify a single calendar to be represented on the Gantt. By default, it is the Standard one, but you can change it to 24 Hours or something else. Also on that tab, you can choose the Color and Pattern of the non-working time, even choosing to have it displayed In front of task bars.
These changes do not affect the schedule, just the presentation of the Gantt, and remember that you can only display one calendar on the chart.I hope I have helped you.

Hi Ignacio, thank you for your reply but unfortunately this doesn't resolve my issue.
The programme calendar I am currently working on is set as 24 hours which allows me to add bars over the top of the grey. This shows that although its a weekend and 'technically' non working, we are in fact working both Saturday and Sunday. What I am struggling with is adding the Christmas period 23/12/24 - 03/01/24 as non-working and it shown as non-working i.e. all greyed out on the same programme as the weekend work.

Hi again Ames
I assume then that you have assigned the 24 Hours calendar to the project and you are displaying the Standard calendar in the Timescale. If so, you can define the Christmas period 23/12/24 - 03/01/24 as non-working time in the Exceptions tab (Menu bar > Project > Properties > Change Working Time... for Standard Calendar) and OK.
If it is not displayed immediately, try refreshing the screen, simply select the Gantt Chart view again
We look forward to your feedback.
