In Task Usage or Resource Usage, is it possible to summarize hours by group through Custom Fields?

For example, in Project Professional's Task Usage or Resource Usage, if I use a Custom Field such as Text1 to group tasks and resources, can I then display summarized hours by group in the left-side timesheet column and in the Detail Styles on the right-side time scale?

    Hi Jasonzhengz,

    insert the custom field column into the appropriate view, then click the black triangle in the column header (AutoFilter) and select "Group by this field."

     

    Note: The "Text1" custom field in the Task Usage view, for example, is a task field; it is different from the "Text1" field in the Resource Usage view, which is a resource field.

    Unfortunately, no. Custom fields are not timescaled. There might be some tricks you could use with manual entry into extra baseline fields, but I haven't really tried that to see if it's even feasible.
