custom field in timesheet
Hi,
I create a new field of enterprise.
I add in the timesheet view the new field and also add the column in a planning and fill in some data of the field in some task.
Once the schedule is published the field data does not appear in the timesheet.
On the contrary, I fill the field in the timesheet and once the task is published and approved it does not appear in the planning.
Can someone help me.
Thank you very much.
- RodFrommSteel ContributorCan you provide some clarity as the suggestions will vary drastically.
~ I take it you have created a new custom task field?
~ You added the task field to a Timesheet view?
~ The new task field does not show up in your timesheet using the modified view?
Is the task not appearing in the timesheet, the new column, or neither?
If the- RaulVVCopper ContributorI have created a custom company field with "Entity and Type" as Task and Text.
I have added the custom field to a Timesheet view.
In the Timesheet the column of the field appears correctly.
I make a new schedule and add the custom field column. It appears as a company custom field. So far so good.
If I give a value to the field in the schedule and then publish, the added value does not appear in the custom field column in the Timesheet.
If I give a value to the custom field in the Timesheet, I send it for approval, it is approved but when I open the planning the field appears empty, with no value.
I have also tried the solution proposed by Dale_HowardMVP and it doesn't work either.

Open the custom field for editing in PWA. In the Calculation for Assignment Rows section, select the Roll down, unless manually specified option. Click the Save button. Your PMs may need to open and publish their projects for the change to take effect. Hope this helps.- RaulVVCopper ContributorI have tried this proposal but it still does not work.
- RodFrommSteel ContributorI've experienced this same issue. The column will appear in a user's timesheet, but not the assigned value. If you do this, ensure you check the 'Make read only' option for the added column(s), otherwise it will allow users to set a value in their timesheet. Once I assigned a value, I couldn't remove it from my timesheet view, your results may vary.
If a value is assigned it is only displayed in the timesheet view and does not apply the value to the task in the project. Just an FYI, on the task I tested this on I am the Project Owner and I have administrator privileges (I actually created/designed the site).
