%Complete didnt change the Finish Duration
I have an issue on my Microsoft Project work, when I update the %Complete on a single task (tracking mode) the Finish duration didnt change (the task type is Fixed Units).
For example:
My task was Start 20 Nov 2025 and Finish 5 Dec 2025
The actual task Start 20 Nov 2025 (on schedule)
The status date is 28 Nov 2025
The %complete until the status date is 10%
From the example, the task should be delayed because I cant increase the works time and the manpower but the Finish Date still locked in 5 Dec 2025.
any advice or solution how to solved it? Thanks for the time

Hello friends
There are two ways to reschedule delayed work from the status date:
Manual:
Select the task > Menu > Tasks > Move > Incomplete Parts to Status Date
or Select the task > Menu > Project > Status > Update Project > Reschedule uncompleted work to start after: > For: Selected tasks > OK
Automatic: Menu > File > Options > Advanced > Calculation options for this project > Select: Move start of remaining parts before status date forward to status date
Note: In this automatic case, for tasks you want to reschedule that had progress before this new option was changed, you will need to re-enter the % complete or Actual Duration, or even delete the value and re-enter it if the above doesn't work.
For any new progress entered for any task that is delayed, it will be automatically rescheduled based on the status date.
I hope this helps.

The status date is the vertical red line.
Line 1. If the task has been continuously in progress since 20/11/2025, all of the days from 20/11/2025 up to the status date are actual duration (7 days), and the remaining incomplete duration is 5 days and they are all in the future. relative to the status date.
Line 2. If the task actually started on 20/11/2025, and % complete is 10%, the actual duration is 1.2 days.
Line 3. All of the remaining incomplete part must be moved to the status date.
Any help?
