Collapsing a master / Sub plan with links between projects into a single file

I have a simple master plan with 3 inserted files.  There are dependencies between the files, indicated by a Dep in / out field and a unique reference.

I have a macro which can make and break electronic links between the files so that PMs can have a copy of "their" file unencumbered by links to other locations, and I can still make a linked Programme Plan from the inserted files.  All is good, and the critical path across the programme can be seen etc. in the linked-up version.

However, there are times when I want to crush all the plans back into a single plan.  If I do this manually by removing the links to the inserted files, the electronic links between the plans fail.

Is there a way that I can reset the links back to the correct locations?

Thanks

Miles

Actually, as I type out the problem statement, I wonder if there is a way to remove the links (using my existing "break links" macro, remove the sub-plan set up (unsure how to do this with VBA) and then run a variation of my "make links" macro using the single plan...  Something to ponder...

    Miles,
As I noted in the Stack Overflow "forum" I have a macro that will create a "flat" file from a linked master while preserving all the inter-project links. If you want more information contact me at the address listed below.

As far as using your existing macros to do the same thing, I have no idea so that is indeed something for you to ponder.

Email sent, hopefully I passed the "remove the redundancies" test; the atat foxed me briefly 🙂 🙂

        Miles,
No message yet (1 hour after your posting). Hopefully you also got the dotdot redundancy. Over the years I've only had a couple of people not figure it out. I use the encoding of course to prevent spam bots and thus far it's worked great.
