Viva Insights Error - This email doesn't meet the five-recipient minimum for read statistics.

I am sending an email from my individual account to a distribution list of over 500 people. The Viva insights tab initial shows that the open rate will be available after 30 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I receive an error, This email doesn't meet the five-recipient minimum for read statistics. I have reviewed the help article, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/insights/personal/use/use-insights, to ensure that the sent message does not violate the needed requirements for Insights to work.

  • Email was NOT sent from a shared mailbox

  • Email was NOT sent more than 14 days ago.

  • The total number of recipients (the sum of all of the recipients in the To:, Cc:, and Bcc: fields) is NOT less than five.

  • Email NOT sent to modern groups.

Does anyone know why I am receiving this message and how do I fix it?

    Did you have the right license? The Viva Insights add-in will show that message if you only have an 'Insights by MyAnalytics' licenses.

      Hello Jake_Caddes

      I'm having the same issue as described by VI_Migration , did you ever find a solution to this? Doing a couple test emails to troubleshoot, but I can't seem to get this feature to work.

        Hi VI_Migration, the product team suggested to me to ask Jon to submit a ticket to help his team solve their issue. I would think they would tell me to ask you to do the same. Hopefully the support team can solve this quickly, I apologize that there isn't a quick easy manual fix to share.
