Microsoft 365 Developer Program Eligibility
Thank you for following up on this Jill! Really appreciate it!
I also tried the Visual Studio route outlined in the docs and that didn't work either 😔
I did have a developer sandbox back in the day which my phone number was tied to. My hunch is that because I deleted that profile while I was trying to get this to work, I have to wait the 60 day period described in the docs before my account is eligible again. Although, others in my org can't get it to work either and they've never had a sandbox subscription before.
I wish that because the program was just overhauled and MAICPP members are specifically called out as eligible members, there should be a less opaque way to get take advantage of this benefit. Doing dev in a prod tenant to keep up with the rapid pace of change and working on potential customer ideas doesn't give me the best feeling. I understand that people were abusing the program before the overhaul, but now I feel that we're being locked out because of the bad actors of the past.
I will post to the other board you found and I'll definitely update this thread with any developments I have. Staying optimistic that it will work soon!
Thanks again.
JillArmourMicrosoft Quick update: I got an email about Dev Essentials a few days ago and thought I should try the M365 Dev Sandbox again. I used the same flow I tried before and today it worked. I was greeted with the "Set up your Microsoft 365 E5 developer subscription" dialog box and everything provisioned as described.
My original hunch was the 60 day profile hold period, but that should have been complete in December and I did try on that day and the day after, but it didn't work. I hadn't tried again until today, so maybe it was a calendar year issue. 🤷
Thanks again for all of your help 🙌
