Unable to change file sharing permissions from link in Outlook web

Not sure if it's related to the updated OneDrive sharing approach, but I no longer seem able to update the file access permissions once I paste the link into an email via Outlook web. The dialogue pops up but disappears when I click on 'manage access' etc. Anyone else find this issue?

If you're unable to change file sharing permissions from a link in Outlook web, there are a few possible reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Verify your access rights: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to change file sharing settings. If you are not the owner or administrator of the file, you may not have the authority to modify the permissions. Check with the file owner or administrator to confirm your access level.

    2. Try a different browser: Switch to a different web browser and see if the issue persists. Sometimes, certain browser settings or extensions can interfere with the functionality of Outlook web. Testing with a different browser can help determine if the problem is browser-specific.

    3. Clear browser cache and cookies: Clear your browser cache and cookies, as stored data can sometimes cause conflicts and prevent certain actions from functioning correctly. After clearing the cache and cookies, restart your browser and try changing the file sharing permissions again.

    4. Disable browser extensions: Temporarily disable any browser extensions or add-ons that you have installed, as they can sometimes interfere with the functionality of web applications. Restart your browser and check if you can now modify the file sharing permissions.

    5. Use the Outlook desktop client: If possible, try accessing your Outlook account using the Outlook desktop client (such as Outlook for Windows or Outlook for Mac). The desktop client may provide more robust functionality and allow you to change file sharing permissions more easily.

    6. Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They can investigate the problem more thoroughly and provide you with specific troubleshooting steps based on your account and the Outlook web version you're using.

Remember to provide as much detail as possible when contacting support, including the steps you've already taken and any error messages or specific behaviors you've observed. This will help them better understand the issue and provide appropriate assistance.

Thanks Faisal - although ironically / fortunately it appears to have resolved itself - not sure if our IT changed something in the backend or just one of those things (not aware of anything locally)!
