Sender logo in email
Some of the emails I received in new Outlook had a logo from the sender inserted above the message. To stop this behavior go to Settings > Message handling > Shopping and uncheck For shopping-related messages, show a sender logo and relevant links in the message header. Make sure to Save your changes.
Yes, that is a feature of Outlook.com which helps with brand recognition and can also assist with recognizing junk, phishing and other scam emails as these wouldn't have these logos.
Just curious; What is your specific reason to turn it off?

Thank you, Robert, for explaining this to me. Now that I understand the value of this feature, I have turned it on. I first saw it as advertising, and my paid subscription is supposed to be ad-free. In all instances I've seen, it seems like the banner could be about half the size, which would save some screen space.
