Mobile app Sub folder notifications
CoRe23 This was by far the easiest solution, and worked like it was the intended manner for this all along.
To expand on Core's solution: when creating a rule in the DESKTOP outlook, follow the below:
- Select your choice from the first three options as always.
- Under "Do the Following"
-- Select Display In The New Item Alert Window
-- Select Move The Item To Folder:
-- Select your desired folder
-- Click OK
For existing rules:
-Click Rules
-Manage Rules and Alerts
-Highlight all rules (select the first, scroll to the bottom, hold shift and select the last to highlight all)
-Click Change Rule
-Click Display In The New Item Alert Window
-Give the alert a name - literally doesn't matter what it is
-Click Apply
-Click Done
And you're done. Your phone will now get notifications for subfolder emails, and opening the notification will take you to the email.
It took less than a minute to setup, and worked perfectly, which is why I think this is the actual intended means for this to happen.
None of the above methods worked for me.
I just got a new Samsung Tab A7 yesterday, setup office 365 (Outlook...) and I don't get any notifications except for the emails going into the inbox.
Nothing for any of the mails in any of the folders.
Bit of a nightmare for me...
So how does Google get this right when MS can't?????
- amesmmmJan 13, 2022Copper ContributorLmao I had the same question last year so I signed up a new Gmail because of this.... They still haven't fixed the issue yet regardless of so much demand
- DeanT01Jan 13, 2022Copper ContributorWell it's not a new thing that MS just leave their customers hanging like this...
I'm now temped to actually move our company over to GSuite as I see there anre many other doing this and have way less issues...
Also looks to be a lot cheaper too!- amesmmmJan 13, 2022Copper ContributorGood on you LOLs unfortunately I still have to put up with this at work. It would've saved so much time for me from sorting those emails into different folders manually if they had a solution... Shouldn't be a rocket science for them? It's like one of those must have functions... maybe harder than I thought
