The issue is often caused when uninstalling a browser that was previously set as the default or by switching default browsers in general.
Depending on the method that was used, you might be able to fix this by re-assigning the app all its defaults again via the "Defaults Apps" section in Windows Settings.
Resetting the generic Internet Options in Windows and/or the browser could fix this as well.
Often, the underlying issue are the link opener registration within the Registry. The following article contains a fix for this as well.
