Outlook Rules Message
Using the Outlook Rules Feature - when I want to automatically move an incoming email to another folder (the emailer's company name, as example), I get receive a message that states, "one or more rules cannot be uploaded to Microsoft Exchange and have been deactivated." Says its an issue with permissions or storage. What is the reason and fix for this?
- There is a limit of the total size/length of rules, you might have hit that. For Exchange Online mailboxes, you can follow the instructions here to check/increase the limit: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/outlook-on-the-web/increase-the-space-used-by-inbox-rules
As mentioned in the article above, disabled rules do not count against this limit, so disabling one or more rules is a quick fix.
