Outlook Prevents Windows Shutdown
I'm running Office 365 on Windows 11. When I attempt to shutdown Windows after using Outlook normally, I get an error message from Outlook: "There was a problem loading this app. Please close all office applications and restart Microsoft Outllook." For a normal shutdown, I have to first manually close Outlook.
I have tried disabling all COM add-ins and reinstalling Office 365 - no help.
Appreciate your thoughts on what could be causing this problem. Thanks.
- JezzaIICopper ContributorI have the same issue - tried MS Support and Recovery Assistant with no luck
- wojciechkrsCopper ContributorI also have this problem. Reinstall didn't help. I always have to click "Close anyway".

Same problem here.
Funny how Microsoft's own products have more compatibility issues with Windows 11 than other apps
- gradashCopper Contributorbecause of that i need to bring my laptop to warranty, i put it to bag for holidays, and after realized it wont turn on... battery depleted to 0, low battery shutdown cant turn off laptop because of outlook preventing..
- sba923Copper ContributorSame here, on all my Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines.
I'm running 2207 build 16.0.15427.20182 'cos newer versions contain a blocking Excel bug. - GaryJEBrass ContributorI no longer have the issue. I'm not sure why, but I did a complete online repair; that may be the reason.

Hmm... annoyingly I've got the latest version and I've still got this bug. In fact I did a complete uninstall (using the Office cleanup tool provided by MS to make sure that the suite really IS gone) + reinstall of Office yesterday and after reinstalling everything this is still the case. 😞
- TomSmith900Copper ContributorJust update to a 23xy-version. Bug got fixed long ago.
