Outlook for MAC does not include attached files
I experience that Outlook very often doesn't send the files I have attached. Everything looks correct until the mail I sent. Then it's like the attachment is removed from the e-mail. Also, my image in the signature is often missing. How can I solve this issue?
- dlowe1105Copper ContributorHere is the solution!
I have had this problem for 6 months and tried all the "advice" from people who have not experienced the issue themselves.
1. Open Mac OS System Settings
2. Select "Privacy and Security"
3. Select "Full Disk Access"
4. If Outlook is listed then ensure you enable full disk access
5. If Outlook is NOT listed then select the + icon in the bottom left
6. Search for Outlook in the pop up by typing "Outlook" in the search bar
7. Add Outlook and enable it.
SOLVED- John65XCopper ContributorI had to toggle mine off and back on then it solved it
- StinaBerggrenCopper ContributorThis solution seems to have solved my problems! Thank you very much!!!!!
- Suleyman AliIron ContributorMicrosoft current status:
"Current status: We’ve confirmed that the temporary workaround has been applied to all affected environments and is available for download as the latest Outlook for Mac client version. This workaround will prevent an email message with an attachment from appearing sent if the attachment removal scenario occurs and instead save a copy to a user's Drafts folder. The user may then be able to resend the message successfully with the attachment from that folder. Additionally, we’re reviewing local reproduction data of this complex impact scenario to isolate the underlying cause of the problem and formulate remediation actions for full resolution. In parallel, we’re validating potential supplemental fixes that may help relieve portions of impact while we continue our investigation into the underlying cause."
So there is no actual fix yet... they are going to implement this workaround where you have to go to the drafts folder. I am not exactly too keen on this fix, but it would give them better understanding of the issue to then actually fix the issue. - Michal198412Copper Contributor
same issue here. They didnt fix anything. I suggest the developers start using MAC and they will fix it faster 🙂
its so anoying add attachment at the end. And especially if you add one attachment and after a couple of seconds another attachment, be sure, both wont be delivered. Just one!!!

Still having this same issue for weeks now with a strip logo in signature + noticed the last 2 weeks my attachments will not send on certain emails. Extremely annoying. Please fix this Microsoft.
- Suleyman AliIron Contributorcurrently the status is this (posted 29th august 2023):
"Current status: We've deployed the supplemental fix to a portion of the affected environment and are monitoring metrics to validate that it is viable before proceeding to a broad deployment. Once it is validated, we'll provide a resolution timeline.
Root cause: A conflict occurring with how our service detects attachment IDs before sending email in Outlook for Mac is resulting in the service removing attachments on sending email."- leo-ultCopper Contributor@suleyman where are you finding these posts?
- Suleyman AliIron Contributorhi there, in the office 365 admin centre message board (health status)
- gschaadtCopper ContributorAre these updates available publicly?

Suleyman Ali same error. Updated my Outlook build just yesterday and having the exact same error. Cannot send (or randomly does not) attachments. It also randomly changes any inline images to a ? in the email body itself.
TRES annoying...
- hoffecbmCopper ContributorSame problem for me will try to revert back to legacy

Add us to the list. The problem was limited to only one user for a couple of weeks. Now it is spreading throughout the leadership group of our firm with the CEO, COO, CFO, and CTO all having been impacted over the past few days. This issue is having a material impact on the business functions of our company.
- Conrad_HagemansCopper ContributorAdd me to the list.
Same problems here.
I went back to legacy now problems are solved.
Hopefuly we can switch back to new version soon.- John65XCopper Contributormy workaround save as draft and then send from online outlook. It does seem a very long time with a fault thought.

this is my chosen work around too.
- Jasper355Copper ContributorI have the same: And i am seriously annoyed by MS. First they keep pushing you to the new version (for over 2 years now). This product was first released without proper mail support for emails other than exchange. Then they keep frustrating you with "the next time you will startup outlook the new version will start" without me even asking. I am not even talking about the pure frustration if having to set something back to the old version without having asked for it. And now after giving it a go I get this nonsense again....pure frustrating of attachments not arriving. You would think a basic functionality like this would have been tested untill perfection. Frustrating!!!

MCADK I don't seem to have the same problem with my Non-Microsoft accounts? I haven't been able to reproduce the same error with my Gmail accounts in the client!?
