Outlook emails not sending (Error code: 0x80070005-0x000004dc-0x00000524)
I am going out of my mind and NEED HELP. PLEASE! :)
A few days ago, my personal Hotmail account (no company Exchange etc) started to bounce back emails I send from or reply to from my Outlook client app (M365 install on W11). Full error message example below. Once I get it kicked back, hit the "send again" option, then first delete the recipients and then add them again...it sends okay. Very tedious and annoying over time of course! Everything works fine on the same Hotmail account on Outlook mobile, as well as OWA. All other email accounts I have work fine also.
Based on my research (Google, Copilot and friends, etc.) it seems to be some "send on behalf of" issue, however I am not using any of that AFAIK. I have tried clearing Autocomplete Cache, rebuilt the relevant Outlook profile and finally completely uninstalled all M365 apps this morning and reinstalled everything. Same issue persists. HEEEEELP! And THANK YOU in advance!

I'm thinking the auto-complete for those entries are bad/corrupted. If you are sending to a lot of people, one of them is causing this. The easy fix is to click on the X on their name when you type it and add in in manually again.

Hi Lisa! Thank you for the idea! Unfortunately, that is not it either. It happens when sending to individuals, groups, even myself. I have tried the removing of auto-complete options and it does not change the issue. :(
How many people are you sending this email to at one time? There are limits, so maybe that's one of the issues.

Runoutlook.exe /safeto enter safe mode and test sending emails. Use icacls %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook /resetto repair permissions, and then check if the antivirus software is blocking SMTP traffic.

Hi Kurapya! Thanks for the ideas! I executed the first two, but unfortunately am still experiencing the same problem. For antivirus, I am just using Windows Security and have not made any recent changes. How would I check if it blocks SMTP traffic? And any other ideas? Thank you so much!
