navigation bar moved to left
Dears,
The navigation bar has been moved to the left. How can I change it back to be on the bottom?

- TFilsonCopper ContributorMicrosoft, I don’t usually do this, but playing the disability/accessibility card. With this new area it makes text and information even smaller and jumbled on laptops. While the rest of the world is adding features to assist, you are making your products more difficult.
- 42forallBrass ContributorPretty confident Microsoft doesn't read these boards. Extremely confident the decision to make this move is due to someone in Microsoft Executive insisting on this change for their own personal preference with zero thought to the needs of all the users out in the real world. This is one of those changes that screams it's being done at the insistence of the Executive. Happy for Microsoft to prove me wrong...

Follow these steps:
1. File -> Options -> Advanced
2. Uncheck "Show Apps in Outlook"
3. Restart Outlook
The original/old navigation bar returns.

- TimWBSCopper ContributorExcellent! Thanks a lot!
- Paul__OCopper ContributorYes. we know. That has been posted a dozen times or more. The issue is they're taking away that option.

- jimelekCopper ContributorI am sure this change works for some people, but not for me. MS, please allow us to put this back at the bottom of the Folder pane!

Here are instructions on how you can change back.
1. Press Options
2. Unmark the check "Show Apps in Outlook"
Your problem should be solved!
- Paul__OCopper ContributorYes we know. Except Microsoft will be taking that option away from us.

- ClivilisciousCopper Contributor@MBZ1 Quickest way l found for undoing this change brought about by an office update is to select File on your outlook >>> Settings >>>>Advanced >>>>In Outlook panes uncheck Show Apps in Outlook >>>Hit Ok and restart your outlook. Should be as before after the restart.

Hey folks - found a fix.
File --> Options --> Advanced: Uncheck the "Show Apps in Outlook". It will give you a msg re: user experience. Accept that and re-start Outlook.
Voila!
- Paul__OCopper ContributorExcept Microsoft is going to take that away from us and force us to have it on the left.

"You can move the bar back below the folder pane for a time, as described below, but eventually the navigation bar will be permanently positioned on the left margin."

- ThePayneCopper ContributorThank goodness I can turn this off. It was so annoying because it was in my peripheral vision since I'm using two screens and it felt like a wall right next to me. Way to distracting and a total waste of space.
- Paul__OCopper ContributorUnfortunately their KB article says eventually you won't have a choice, you'll be forced to have it on the left.

Paul__O Not sure what you mean by "did you read that". I figured this out this morning on my own and it did the trick. I am using the version with permanent changes and am not using a "try new features" version. Also want to mention I am not affiliated with Microsoft, just a user who found a solution.

Hey Microsoft, UI design 101. Look at all this WASTED SPACE. Now you've shrunk important things - the list of emails and the preview pane - and slightly expanded something NOT IMPORTANT - the number of folders I can see...while increasing something a UI designer should NEVER increase - wasted space:
