How to schedule this type of calendar item?

Tribal wisdom in my organization is that if I will be unavailable during working hours I should create a meeting of my calendar, shown as "Free," and an appointment shown as "Busy" or "Out of office," etc. The meeting makes Outlook notify the people I work with. The appointment warns others not to schedule a meeting during that time, and I can also use it to make private notes about where I'm going, etc.

I'm puzzled about how to handle a period where I won't be away, but some point I'll have to deal with a repair person, landscaper, etc., who is coming to see me. In other words, I want to convey the message "If you need me I probably will be there, but don't schedule any meetings." What would be the best way to do this?

Open File Explorer, then click the View tab at the top,Uncheck Show Preview Pane and Show Details Pane.

Open Outlook Calendar view, create a new event and set the time, select Busy in Status, uncheck Allow Invitees to Invite Others to prevent others from adding a meeting, then set a private event, then after setting the time for the new event, select Private in Privacy Options, so that others will only know that the time period has been taken but will not see the details.
