Have to open and close outlook for emails to send
Hi,
I do alot of email mail merges using Word and Outlook and recently it sends 21 emails and then has a send and recieve error and stops sending emails automatically. I then have to open and close Outlook for it to send another 21 emails and repeat this process until the merge is done, which obviously isn't ideal.
I've ran repair PST and tried clicking and unclicking the different server boxes plus changing server settings to another one that IONOS offer but still the problem remains. Any ideas or help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much,
Terry

Yes, checking your profile settings is a good idea:

- adamsmith1010Copper ContributorOne possible solution is to check your Outlook settings and make sure there are no restrictions on the number of emails you can send in a single session. Also, ensure that your internet connection is stable. If the issue persists, you might want to consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

Regards
Adam
Softaken Software

Hi again. It seems to be working a bit better after moving my contacts onto the same datafile as the new profile but the 'email address' option doesn't show up when in the final mail merge stage of 'finish & merge'. I went for the 'name' column instead but its not sent to everyone as I have multiple people called 'Dan' for example... anyone know how to get the 'email_address' option back for the 'to' field and then think we may be onto a winner...? or am I going down the completely wrong rabbit hole here?
- terrytibbsCopper ContributorThanks, I've had a look but can't find where I would see where to check for any restrictions?

Hi terrytibbs,
consider deleting and then creating a new Outlook profile. In Outlook, select File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles
- hoose Show Profiles > Delete the existing profile
Add a profile
In the Profile Name box, type a name for the profile, and then choose OK.

I did this today but after fiddling with it for a few hours, I am back where I started with emails still stopping at 21 emails and having to open and close outlook.
To make matters worse the backups I made of inbox and outbox emails won't import or if they do they come out glitchy so I've lost emails that I potentially needed for work now too.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Terry
