Add shared mailbox contacts to the new outlook for windows
This is very frustrating.
- Microsoft removes contact list sharing. 😭
- Then Microsoft recommends you use Shared Mailboxes to remedy this. 👍
- Now you can't see or edit contacts on Outlook (New). 🤦♂️
This is odd, since you can see and edit Shared Mailbox Contacts on Outlook (Classic). So, it is not like the code does not exist. 🤷♂️
THIS IS A VERY BIG DEAL! 😤
I don't know what to tell my clients. They don't want to abandon Outlook (Classic) since Outlook (New) are not addressing serious flaws in their app. They are making it easier for users not to make the move. I just don't get it! 🤔

I'm guessing the code doesn't exist in the way you're thinking. Just because it's there for the classic Outlook app doesn't mean that's transferrable or even usable in the new Outlook.
On the other hand, although I know from experience that all these features take time this should definitely be a priority for Microsoft. I'm hoping since this is still in beta form and not replacing classic Outlook yet that it will still happen.I will mention, although it doesn't work for new Outlook if someone has a shared mailbox contact list, they can sign into Outlook via the mobile app on their main account. Then, click 'add account' to add a shared mailbox and sign into that mailbox. Once there you can see those contacts. You can also sync the contacts directly to your phone's native contact list (but it's also removable) and those contacts are updated live. I've only tested on Apple devices, not Android.
