why can't I see my One Drive on my laptop, that was originally set up on a desktop.
apparently resetting my laptop lost the connection, I automatically got new access which basically does not give me access to existing files!      How to retrieve the original OneDrive acct?

catemulligan We don't have any basic information from you as to whether you're using a Mac or PC, Windows 10, 11 or something else so can't give precise information.

I don't/can't know whether you have successfully uploaded files in the past from your desktop or whether you're logging in with the same account etc.
If you log into OneDrive in a browser using the same account as you had before do you see your files? Are they in the recycle bin?
Do you or your company have backups? Cloud sync systems like these are not effective backups by themselves, especially if uploads are never verified.
