Trouble with OneDrive for Business and UE-V
Moin
I have some Trouble with OneDrive for Business and UE-V on Windows 10 1809
- Windows 10 1809 Enterprise x64 (Last Cumulativ Update)
- Office 365 ProPlus Monthly Channel
- Folder Redirection to the local OneDrive for Business Folder
- active OneDrive Files onDemand
- active UE-V withe default Setting Templates
- Sync Provider configured as "external"
- UE-V SettingsPackagePath is the local OneDrive for Business Folder
The Problem
- A Random Online-only File (cloud symbol)
- Client has internet connection
- When I try to open the file I get the following message
- "Make sure you're connected to the Internet, then try again. We can download the file the next time you're online."
First insight
- As soon as we disable UE-V on the client, the problem no longer occurs.
- Simply delet the UE-V profile completely and restart the Client doesn't solve the problem.
Does anyone know this kind of failure?

Microsoft reports the bug in KB4512534 (August 17, 2019 for 1809). A fix is included in the same update. However, this only becomes effective if you set a corresponding RegKey on the client in Windows.Link to the KB4512534: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4512534
- " Addresses an issue that causes an error if you open Microsoft OneDrive files on demand when User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) is enabled. To apply this solution, set the following DWORD to 1: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\UEV\Agent\Configuration\ApplyExplorerCompatFix "
First tests confirm the effectiveness of the Fix.
