Recent files page - finding path to file
Hi All,
On the front page of onedrive it shows all your recent files. Is there a quick way to know what path these files have? Currently, I go to click on it, open the file and find the path from once the document is opened. You may ask ... what the problem is then?
I feel there needs to be a feature upon hovering over the file (in the recent files view) that tells you the path. Is there some tooltip customisation perhaps where I can configure this? Alternatively, could a column be added to the recent files (alongside 'name, 'opened' and 'owner') that shows path details? If so, please do tell if there is a way to do this.
Any insight appreciated,
Thanks.

As of now (April 2025), OneDrive's web interface and app don't show folder paths in the "Recent" view.
There is:
No way to customize the columns.
No hover tooltip with path info.
No setting in OneDrive or Microsoft 365 to enable that kind of detail.
You're not missing a setting — it's just not built in (yet).
Workaround…
Right-Click > “Open File Location”
On the OneDrive web interface, click the three dots (•••) next to a recent file.
Choose “Open file location.”
This jumps you to the correct folder, showing the path in the breadcrumb at the top.
This is probably the fastest way to find a file's location without opening the file itself.
