The "Remove" Trick
Sometimes the "Delete" button is greyed out, but "Remove" still works. "Remove" unlinks the file from the folder but leaves it in the recycle bin (which you will empty next).
- Log into the Web Version of OneDrive (do not use the desktop app or File Explorer).
- Go to the file.
- Right-click the file.
- Look for Remove (it looks like a trash can with a minus sign or a broken link). Do not click Delete.
- If that works, go immediately to the Recycle Bin on the left sidebar and empty it.
