Option "block download" not showing

Hi all, I have around 10 users in 1 office who don't have the option "BLOCK DOWNLOAD" on their ODB apps. They only see this option for Office files (Word, Excel, etc...) for non-office files such a...

    I don't have an article handy but can confirm that we currently only support Block Download for Office files.

     

    That being said, we are working on Block Download for other file types (as announced in the Sharing talk at Ignite last year) and you should keep an eye on Message Center for more news on that soon 🙂

      StephenRice Hi Stephen,
      My organization actively uses the OneDrive system. First of all, thank you very much for your support. We need to securely share files such as pdf and video on OneDrive with people outside the organization. Especially download blocking is very important to us. You mentioned that you are working on this issue. When will this feature come? Thanks.

        Hi Dincer_Ozberber,

         

        Block Download for PDF should be available today.

         

        Block Download for video should be coming very soon! Rollout will start this month and finish in January!

      I have a paid Microsoft 365 account for my business and the block download option is not showing up on the permissions pop up box. Please advise. 

      How do I block illegal downloads of my company files by the staff that does not need to access and take away docs they should not.

        Hi Roy_Thomas,

         

        The Block download option is only available for Office file types & a select number of non-Office file types (e.g. PDF). What file types are you not seeing it show up for? Depending on your exact needs, you might also want to check out our conditional access policies  as a potential solution. Thanks!
