OneDrive Sync Issue - "You need to be given edit permitions.."

Hello All,

I'd like to ask for help for the following issue:
Everytime that I try to upload a file into my OneDrive folder (desktop), the following error appears:

If I try to do it into the browser version, it doesn't even give me the option to upload any file (or any other action) since there isn't a "Task bar" available on the top:

And finally, another issue that I believe to be linked to the previous ones, everytime I try to upload a file into a chat window @ teams, the following error also appears:

Has anyone ever had these problems?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

The error message you’re seeing, “This file is read-only. You need to be given edit permissions to this file to sync it,” can occur when you don’t have the necessary permissions to edit the file or folder in OneDrive1.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

1.Check File Properties: Right-click on the file and choose Properties. If the Read-only attribute is checked, you can uncheck it and click OK.

2.Check SharePoint Permissions: If the files are synced from SharePoint Online, make sure you have the appropriate permissions to write to the SharePoint library.

3.OneDrive Upload Permission: You can try creating a permission level with Ad Items, View Items permissions on the top-level site of the site collection.

4.Check if OneDrive is up-to-date: Ensure that your OneDrive app is up-to-date. You can check for updates by right-clicking on the OneDrive icon in your system tray and selecting “Settings”. In the “Settings” tab, click on “About” and check if there are any updates available.

5.Reset OneDrive: If none of the above steps work, try resetting OneDrive. You can do this by following these steps:

    Close all Office apps.
    >Right-click on the OneDrive icon in your system tray and select “Close OneDrive”.
    >Press “Windows key + R” to open the Run dialog box.
    >Type %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset and press Enter.
    >Restart your computer and try uploading the file again

As for the missing taskbar in the browser version of OneDrive, here are some potential solutions:

1.Check System Tray: Right-click on your taskbar and select Taskbar settings. Locate the Notification area and select the ‘Select which icon appears on taskbar’ option. Now check the toggle against Microsoft OneDrive and enable it.

2.Start OneDrive Manually: Open File Explorer and go to the following location: C:\Users\ [your username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive.

Double-click the OneDrive.exe file to start it.

3.Check OneDrive Settings: Once opened click on the “white Cloud” and select More > settings. From the general tab make sure “start Onedrive automatically when i sign in to windows” is checked.

    Lastly, regarding teams,

the error message can occur due to various reasons such as network connectivity issues, OneDrive sync issues, or even a bug in the Teams app. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

1.Check your internet connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet and your network connection is stable.

2.Check if OneDrive is up-to-date: Ensure that your OneDrive app is up-to-date. You can check for updates by right-clicking on the OneDrive icon in your system tray and selecting “Settings”. In the “Settings” tab, click on “About” and check if there are any updates available.

3.Clear Teams cache: Clearing the Teams cache can help resolve this issue. You can do this by following these steps:

    >Close all Office apps.
    >Right-click on the Teams icon in your system tray and select “Quit”.
    >Press “Windows key + R” to open the Run dialog box.
    >Type %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and press Enter.
    >Delete all files and folders in the folder that opens.
    >Restart your computer and try uploading the file again.

4.Reinstall Teams: If none of the above steps work, try reinstalling Teams. You can do this by following these steps:

    >Press “Windows key + R” to open the Run dialog box

    >Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
    >Find Microsoft Teams in the list of installed programs and select it.
    >Click on “Uninstall” and follow the prompts to uninstall Teams.
    >Download and install Teams from the official website .
