OneDrive stuck on "signing in"
Hi,
I'm trying to use Onedrive and Onenote, but it seems to be really terrible 50% of the time. Sometimes when I log on my pc, it says I have to log in, and in doing so, is stuck on a "signing in" loop, until it says some error code about me not having an internet connection.
Here's what I've tried:
1. Close and open Onedrive
2. Removing auth from the pc and adding it again
3. Reinstalling Onedrive
4. Change Wi-Fi
5. Do a /reset in Windows run AND cmd
6. Update drivers
7. Install the newest Onedrive from the website
8. Try the app-version found in Windows Store
What am I supposed to do? I don't want to restart my pc every time it doesn't work, that's a terrible fix.

I have tried almost everything (unlinck, delete cche, pause syncing, etc, but niothing works.
I have windows 11 and I can't even find onedrive at the web application. Is there anything else to do?
- shakleeqdCopper ContributorI encountered the exact issue with yours and tried every solutions almost, but didn't work on my Windows 10 22H2 19045.5011. Finally, I got this solved easily just by installing the latest version of OneDrive application. The folder setting appeared immediately after signing in. The Microsoft link is below:

Worked for me. I was stuck, clicking on 'Sign In' did nothing but close the Onedrive notification/setting screen.
- Seb2365Copper ContributorFor me removing OneDrive with revouninstaller and restarting the device had fixed the problem, make sure you delete the registries with revo uninstaller as well. Hope that helps
- guilhermenunes09Copper ContributorMine did not work when installed via Microsoft Store, but it worked when downloaded via Website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/download

Installing from the website https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/download solved my problem.

Same, installing from the website solved my problem
- Marooned753Copper Contributorhi, if you used any vpn software in your windows, just go to control panel> internet options>connections>lan setting and uncheck "proxy server" checkbox.
- RessCopper ContributorHad a similar issue for 10 days with multiple users, the below steps did help:
- Azure AD non-interactive sign in logs showed the application "OneDrive SyncEngine" failures with error code 50020 and the resource tenant ID in the details was pointing to our previous tenant before the T2T migration.
Performed the below steps:
- Removed all the WPJ accounts from "Access Work or School accounts".
- Removed the registry key HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity
- Removed
"C:\users\%username%\Appdata\local\microsoft\onedrive\settings\PreSignInSettingsConfig.json"
- Removed "C:\users\%username%\Appdata\local\Microsoft\OneAuth" and "C:\users\%username%\Appdata\local\microsoft\IdentityCache"
- Removed all OneDrive and Microsoft related credentials from credential storage.
"rundll32.exe keymgr.dll,KRShowKeyMgr"
- %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset (This failed hence unlinked OneDrive from the device and re-added)- tsmith35Copper Contributor
Well, it's a year later, but this worked great for me! Thanks for taking the time to share!
- DavisMiller29Copper Contributor- Check your internet connection: Ensure that you have a stable internet connection. Sometimes, a poor connection can prevent OneDrive from signing in.
- Restart OneDrive: Close the OneDrive application completely and then reopen it. Sometimes, restarting the application can resolve temporary issues.
- Restart your device: Rebooting your computer or mobile device can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
- Update OneDrive: Make sure you have the latest version of the OneDrive application installed. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address sign-in issues.
- Check your credentials: Verify that you're entering the correct username and password for your Microsoft account. If you're unsure, try signing in to your Microsoft account on a web browser to confirm your credentials. - ukyrvou6ru6rCopper Contributor
Fact is, Microsoft 'fixes' are bo**ocks. If the OS is W7 , which one of my laptops is, you're buggered. It worked perfectly (W7) until a week ago, now it doesn't. Upating OneDrive is not an option, as it won't install on W7. Sure, jumping through hoops - stopping, unlinking,restarting... etc., signs you in. But as soon as computer wakes from sleep it's stuck on signing in again.

I also often receive this error occasionally. What works for me is to wait for 5 minutes and then restart system! Microsoft have been always notorius for such annoyances from time to time. This is not the first time. If you'll look into the solution that is provided is actually force revoke type i.e it means that you should uninstall and install. This means that software's testing was really messed up.

Holy cow it was the time. The date and time were wrong for some reason when I fixed it the repeated signing in stopped.

We experienced issues where our end-users were using OneDrive on remote desktops connected to Azure Cloud computers. It seemed that Microsoft Authenticator was not engaging during the login attempt, causing a block. However, when we “unlinked” the user’s OneDrive, closed OneDrive, then reopened it, and reconnected using the “add account” button, we were able to reconnect, and the Authenticator engaged.
- VeigalexCopper ContributorThe problem was solved.
There is a link to another ondrive in files and folders on my ONDRIVE.
I no longer had access to this other ONDRIVE.
I removed the links and the problem disappeared.
- fjfk95Copper ContributorExact same problem here with company OneDrive on a Microsoft (!) Surface Device. Support Call from Microsoft advised to re-install OneDrive, which is just a bad joke as solution. This helps for around 1 week then the problem will appear again and as some of you already said this means to sync every SharePoint folder etc. again. Totally annoying!

My problem is very similar. After the last Windows 10 update, OneDrive keeps connecting and disconnecting. There's no point in doing anything. Uninstall, reset, erase credentials.
I've been researching and I think they even commented above. It's something with MFA or Windows.
