OneDrive sharing links defaulting to email and not username

Hello!

I wonder if someone can shed light on a strange bug a user of mine has encountered.

We use usernames to log in to our accounts - but have email addresses that use our names.

When my user is being sent sharing links, the system is defaulting to adding their email address and not their username and therefore they cannot log in and access the files.  I've tried to replicate it and cannot.  Does anyone know of a setting or something that is stopped their username being used as default?  The URL does include the email address in it, but this doesn't stop my own account from operating normally.

We too have this same issue at our organisation. I would be interested to hear if you managed to find a solution for this.

It seems hard to believe that Microsoft would not account for the fact that many of their customers email addresses do not necessarily match their usernames, which causes issues when sharing links in O365 and being invited to Teams etc.

Still no solution! We troubleshooted it for ages and got nowhere. The short term solution was to ask the affected user to remove the email part from the URL each time they get a link sent to them
