OneDrive personal logs filling up hard drive
I received a low disc space alert on my pc, and to my surprise, had 0% remaining. After some exploring, I found a folder: Users/UserName/AppData/Local/Microsoft/OneDrive/Logs/Personal
Which was about 30GB and contained a few hundred thousand files called SyncEngine followed by dates and numeric codes.
I deleted the folder contents. After about a day its back up to 8GB and climbing.
I deselected any folders for OneDrive backup.
I'm assuming there's something wrong and this folder isn't supposed to be outrageously large, but I can't get it to stop filling up my hard drive.
Any insights would be greatly welcomed!

This issue usually stems from:
- Sync Errors or Loops – OneDrive constantly trying and failing to sync (even if nothing's visibly syncing)
- Debug Logging Stuck On – OneDrive gets into a high-verbosity logging mode unintentionally
- Permissions or corrupted configuration – leading to sync engine failing to complete operations and logging excessively
Fixes you can try…
Reset OneDrive Completely
Press Win + R → paste: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe /reset à Enter
Disable Personal OneDrive if not used
Install the Latest OneDrive Version
