Onedrive not uploading photos from my phone since early April 2025
Hello!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 ultra and 2 Windows PC's. Since I purchased the Samsung phone I set Onedrive to upload photos through the "Camera upload" option NOT the "Gallery sync".
If the phone is a Samsung, "Camera upload" button will be automatically hidden. But still, it still uploads photos if "Gallery sync" is switched off.
Since I purchased the S23, "Gallery sync" I always kept it switched off. I don't want to use "Gallery sync" for 2 reasons :
- On my Windows PC I get duplicated photos, each photos are in : "\OneDrive\Pictures\Camera Roll" AND in "\OneDrive\Pictures\Galerie Samsung\DCIM\Camera"
- I don't like the path "\OneDrive\Pictures\Galerie Samsung\DCIM\Camera". When all my photos are in "\OneDrive\Pictures\", I think it's better organized.
So even if "Gallery sync" was switched off and "Camera upload" is hidden, everything was working well since 2023 and my PC got all photos from my phone. Until the second of April 2025 when suddenly it stopped syncing. I think there was a OneDrive Android app update on the same day.
How can I get my "Camera upload"?
Also I think Microsoft should be users the choice between "Camera upload" and "Gallery sync", and both options should be visible.
Thanks

As of now, Microsoft has not released an official fix for the issue affecting the "Camera upload" feature in the OneDrive Android app on Samsung Galaxy devices, including your Galaxy S23 Ultra.
While Microsoft has not yet provided an official fix, you might consider the following steps:
Temporarily Enable "Gallery Sync": Some users have reported that enabling "Gallery sync" in the Samsung Gallery app can restore photo uploads to OneDrive, albeit to the default path \OneDrive\Pictures\Galerie Samsung\DCIM\Camera. If you choose this route, you may need to manage duplicate photos manually.
Manually Upload Photos: As a temporary measure, you can manually upload new photos to OneDrive by opening the OneDrive app, tapping the "+" icon, selecting "Upload," and choosing the photos from your device's storage.
Check for App Updates: Ensure that both the OneDrive and Samsung Gallery apps are updated to their latest versions, as updates may contain fixes for known issues.
