OneDrive file retention duration after sync
Hey guys,
I'm looking for an info regarding synchronisation of SharePoint Online directory with OneDrive for Business. The mechanism works fine, but I would like to avoid having 40 GB of data synchronised on my PC. Is there a way to set OneDrive so it automatically free disk space ? For example, if I don't access a file in 3 months, OneDrive automatically free that disk space, and stop synchronising that document on my PC. Is that possible ?
- Here is a good article, check into the Storage Sense section goes over how it works and some options around configuring behavior.

- Depends on your operating system but if you Have later builds of Windows 10 you can enable Files On-Demand which will allow you to choose which files you want to sync locally and which ones do not use space. It will also free disk space overtime on files that you download but don't set to Keep offline.

MacOS also has Files on-demand in preview as well if you are on the latest MacOS release.

You pointed out the specific parameter I'm looking for : "It will also free disk space overtime on files that you download but don't set to Keep offline" ==> it is that duration I want to know or the rule behind it- Here is a good article, check into the Storage Sense section goes over how it works and some options around configuring behavior.
