OneDrive broken on macOS 10.15 Catalina?
I noticed my OneDrive sharing options were missing, and that the icons were also missing from the top of the screen. Rebooting and reinstalling haven't helped. Something trashed by TM backup the other day so I cannot restore a previous version of the app. Anyone else seeing the same thing and/or know where to get a previous build?

turingtest2There's a lot of good info and work around here, however none worked for me. I did however, discover one (perhaps mentioned in the posts but didn't read them all in-dept), which so far (2 weeks) still works. All the other methods I tried listed here inevitably saw my OD updated to the bricked version. About my setup:
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013)
- Max OS available on this hardware: MacOS Catalina 10.15. (which is now officially unsupported by MS according the MS rep)
This is where things circular. Mac doesn't allow OS upgrade beyond the above -> MS no longer supports above MacOS for OD issues -> MS autoupdates OD anyway, which doesn't work but can't help since it's unsupported OS. Hence why MS support is giving all the fancy work around, except none worked for me until I did the following:
- Turn Off Wifi (as other's have mentioned)
- Restored OD from a Time Machine backup from Dec 10, 2022 (launch Time Machine, find the date you want, navigate Finder to Applications from that date, click to highlight then click on restore). (some say OD xxx.xxx.003 Standalone works but it didn't for me).
- Once restored, right click on OD from Applications and click on "Show Package Contents"
- Click on "Contents"
- Delete everything that has the word "update" in the root of Contents (there should be 4, if I remember correctly)
- Turn on Wifi then try launching OD.
Note: if you don't have a Time Machine backup, then try to find a version which others here say works then follow the steps above.
Good luck!
- SchozzCopper ContributorHi everyone, this is the download that worked for me:

Best of luck

Solution is here. Follow BrianParker's instructions EXCEPT that you download and install the version from the "Deferred Ring" instead of "Production Ring". The link for the "Production Ring" will you give you the most updated version which is the one causing all the problems. I have solved my problem now and am able to access my files to work. - PabloLlCopper ContributorI have the same problem (personal onedrive). It's make me go mad. C'mon Pernille-Eskebo we need your help to fix this soon!

Disable the StandAloneUpdater and don't use the Mac Store version- Folef315Copper Contributor
any experience how long it normally takes before an update is available for Cataline users?
- SchozzCopper ContributorDon't hold your breath everyone, still nothing from Microsoft support and my one-man business is suffering for it. Everything I do is taking twice as long, as I am having to download individual files from the cloud. Apathy is kicking in and no one on Microsoft's Twitter account is now communicating with me. Why is this such a painful/stressful company to get support from? I've paid for this, but doesn't seem to matter.☹️

turingtest2 I have the exact same problem. It simply doesn't launch from launchpad. Rebooting or reinstalling doesn't work.
- SchozzCopper ContributorI am now at my wits' end on this. I have been trying for a second day and it has left me going round and round in circles. Microsoft need to fix this as I am in no way a tech genius, but this is really messing up how I do things now and business is suffering, as well as my stress levels!😞

In all my follow up communications with Microsoft, they also provided me with another link for a Microsoft package for Catalina. I believe it includes the Office Suite as well as One Drive. The version seems to be 16.43.20110804. In case it can help some of you, here it is.

I THINK I found a workaround for me. It's only been working for a few hours, but so far so good. We'll see...
I found an article that said what the URL was for the autoupdate feature connection. So, I wanted to basically "block" that URL. I edited my /etc/hosts file to add a line for the following:
0.0.0.0. oneclient.sfx.ms
You can flush your DNS cache for good measure, but now when I install version 23.054.0313 that was provided early in this thread, it stays running, and it doesn't look like it's updating. I don't know what else making this change would affect, but since my Office software also can't update due to the OS Version being too low, I don't know of any other Microsoft software I have that would require access to that site. I'll update this thread with status in a day or two.- Charlie47Copper ContributorIt's been almost 24 hours and it's still running on the old version after my DNS 'trick'. Hopeful my luck will continue with that workaround.
- XuHan29Copper ContributorI have the same issue, 10.15 here and OneDrive just won't open. Or crashes at the login point. Can't really update my OS to newer version due to work issue. Please fix this bug ASAP..

XuHan29 use the link that Deleted posted earlier to reinstall the previous build.
- diamond_dukeCopper ContributorThis solution does not work for me. The OneDrive icon appears for one second but then disappears. Maybe it's getting automatically updated

Same issue here. VERY annoying and severely disrupts my workflow. Microsoft wore me down and got me accepting working on OneDrive documents and having AutoSave on. Now that's all gone and I have to manually sync to cloud. My hardware caps out at Catalina, so an OS update isn't possible. Yeah, I could buy new hardware, but I shouldn't have to. I accepted that I'm stuck on older versions of the Office suite, which is fine for now, but at least let me use OneDrive! PLEASE fix this ASAP!
- Scott_ZhangCopper ContributorI also have a same problem since my OneDrive app automatically updated on this Tuesday. However, my another Macbook Pro OS is Big Sur and OneDirve app seems run normal on it.

I have the exact same issue. And because I tried to uninstall / reinstall One Drive, I no longer have access to my documents from my MacBook. I spent two hours chatting with Microsoft technical support and at the end, the recommendation was to contact One Drive technical support... Now I'm waiting for a reply from them.
I don't understand this specific issue with OneDrive. All the Office apps (Word, Excel, etc.) are working just fine. The only thing is that I can't install updates since I run on macOS Catalina.
- DeletedI got the download link for version 23.054.0313. I reinstalled One Drive and so far so good.
