One drive does continue to sycronize a site if this one change the url?
Hi,
recently we changed the main url of our sharepoint sites from xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/etc to yyyyyy.sharepoint.com/etc, at the moment there is the redirect to the new url for those who will still look for the old url so they can still reach the sites.
We have seen at the moment that one drive is still working on everyone's computer, but after 90 days the redirect will be stopped from microsoft.
Can this create an issue in the future? will onedrive continue to syncronize the old site on everyone's computer even after the ending of the redirect?
thank you so much for the attention.

Hi,
Welcome to Microsoft Community, you are curious about your OneDrive synchronization .
Now let me answer your question.
Yes, changing the URL of your SharePoint site can potentially affect OneDrive synchronization after the redirect is stopped. Here’s why:
OneDrive synchronization is tied to the User Principal Name (UPN) and the URL of the SharePoint site. When you change the URL of a SharePoint site, any saved links to the user’s OneDrive (such as desktop shortcuts or browser favorites) will no longer work and will need to be updated.
->The OneDrive sync app (on both Windows and Mac) will automatically switch to sync with the new OneDrive location after a UPN change.
While the UPN change is propagating through your environment, users may see an error in the OneDrive sync app that “One or more libraries could not be synced.” If they click for more information, they will see “You don’t have permission to sync this library.” Users who see this error should restart the sync app.
The error will go away when the UPN change has been fully propagated and the sync app is updated to use the user’s new OneDrive URL.
Therefore, once the redirect from the old URL to the new one is stopped, it’s possible that OneDrive may stop syncing if it hasn’t updated to use the new URL. To avoid any disruption, it would be a good idea to ensure that all users update their OneDrive sync settings to use the new URL before the redirect is stopped.
This can be done by unlinking and then re-linking their OneDrive account, or by manually updating the library URL in their sync settings
