I can't do Co-authorizing on shared OneDrive file that is on my PC

I shared a folder to a collogue of which she has saved so it is online and also a hardcopy on the computer. When she opens an excel file from the computer, it does not show the Co-authorizing ability...

Co-authoring in Excel desktop only works when the file is truly cloud-based.

Requirements for Excel Desktop Co-authoring to Work

    1. File must be stored in OneDrive or SharePoint Online
    2. The file must be opened from the cloud, not just the local sync folder
    3. AutoSave must be turned on
    4. Both users need to be using Excel 365 or 2019+
    5. The file must not be password protected, macro-enabled (.xlsm), or opened in compatibility mode

    Or…

    Use Office Online (Web)

    This always supports co-authoring:

    • If both users open from https://onedrive.live.com, collaboration is seamless.
    • Useful for quick edits if desktop syncing is causing trouble.

    I hope I could help
