How to save to someone else's OneDrive storage
Good afternoon,
My name is Christine and I'm an office manager for a construction management company. I work remotely and some of my responsibilities include creating subcontractor agreements, tracking invoices and payments in Excel spreadsheets, and other varies documents relating to the construction project. Right now, the information is saved on my OneDrive storage, but my manager is wondering how everything can be stored on his OneDrive storage.
I hope this is where I can find a definitive answer since my research on the internet is not providing me with this information.
Thanks!

For collaboration, I advise:
- Creating a SharePoint team site and moving all your files to the document library of this site.
- Adding yourself as an owner to the corresponding Microsoft 365 group and adding additional members.
- Only using the Office Web Apps or MS Teams Desktop App for collaboration. I advise against using the Office Desktop Apps in combination with the OneDrive Sync client because of sync and backup issues.- Christine0430Copper Contributor
MathieuVandenHautte I understand what you’re saying but how does that allow me to save to the Construction Management main storage?

Hi Christine,
So first you have to add the files and folders to a shared storage space (SharePoint Team site document library) and give owners and members permissions via the Microsoft 365 group. This approach is highly scalable and manageable because (extra) owners and member can be added or removed at any time (e.g. onboarding and offboarding employees).https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-upload-and-share-files-in-a-document-library-98cb2ff2-c27e-42ea-b055-c2d895f8a5de
Only owners and members can access and edit the content in this library via their Office Web Apps or they can sync the files and folders using their OneDrive Sync Client. The sync allows them to access the files and folders in their Windows File Explorer so they can be viewed or edited by using their Office Desktop Apps.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sync-sharepoint-files-and-folders-87a96948-4dd7-43e4-aca1-53f3e18bea9b
When using the OneDrive Sync Client, files and folders can be accessed on demand or kept offline on their devices.
Please note: OneDrive is a sync and not a backup solution! I strongly advise using a third party solution such as Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to backup OneDrive and SharePoint content (to another ecosystem).
