How do I specify a folder on my D: drive?
I want to set up backing up a folder on my 😧 drive. I'm using OneDrive, related to my Family Edition license. However, when I try to set it up all Microsoft OneDrive gives me are the following speci...
- There is no inherant advantage. But if you want files on 😧 drive inside OneDrive then you either have to
1) move OneDrive to 😧 so that the folders on 😧 can be put inside, e.g. if you want D:\X to be in OneDrive then it will have to be set up as something like D:\OneDrive\X
2) move everything on 😧 you want on OneDrive to a folder inside OneDrive synced to C:
3) upload D:\X to OneDrive via web-interface, perhaps omitting sync back to C:\...\OneDrive - therafter manually managing uploads.
As you likely don't have space on C: to hold X files then you'll have to set it up with Files on Demand so that files are only locally present if requested.
As always, make sure you have an actual backup of your files outside of OneDrive as half the posts to this forum are from people who have lost access to OneDrive, improperly synced files, or deleted the files themselves without realising that deletes all synced copies of those files.
Rod_Falanga_DOH the folders you list are special folders that can move into the ObeDrive home folder wherever that is located.
When setting up OneDrive it asks where you want to put it other than the default (user)\OneDrive. To move it subsequently :

- You're the one requesting it be on 😧 so your reasons must provide some advantage.
- I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. What I mean is there some inherit advantage to be made by changing where OneDrive is located? For example, the C: drive is normally the primary drive on a machine. Is moving OneDrive to some other location better, because it isn't the drive the operating system is installed on? Or is that irrelevant?
